ENVIRONMENTAL LABELING OF PACKAGING

Providing relevant and transparent information to our customers is more important than ever! That is why all VELP-branded product packaging is properly labeled in the manner set by the applicable UNI technical standards and in accordance with the rules defined by the EU Commission.

This new labeling, introduced at the European level, aims to improve transparency and environmental awareness among consumers by providing detailed information on the characteristics of product packaging. Environmental labeling is based on a four-category rating system: packaging materials, reuse, recyclability and compostability. 

The adoption of the new environmental packaging labeling is another step forward in VELP's commitment to sustainability. In order to facilitate the collection, reuse, recovery, and recycling of waste from discarded packaging and to identify it according to Legislative Decree 116/2020 and EU Directives 2018/851-852, the list of packaging used (identified according to the codes listed in Decision 97/129 EC) and how to dispose of it is presented below:
