The Kjeldahl method is a reliable technique widely adopted for the determination of nitrogen/protein in various samples.

The Kjeldahl method involves as the first step of analysis the digestion of organic samples in concentrated sulfuric acid. This process converts nitrogen-containing compounds into ammonium sulfate, which is then distilled and quantified by titration. While the Kjeldahl method provides valuable insights into numerous applications, it also produces toxic gases that need to be neutralized.

To mitigate these risks, protect the personnel from exposure to harmful gases and prevent contamination of the laboratory environment, effective gas scrubbing techniques have become an integral part of Kjeldahl's analysis.

With its reduced dimensions, the KS 1000 scrubber is specifically engineered to optimize laboratory space ensuring a comfortable working environment. Together with the compact size of the DK and DKL digestion units, VELP offers the most space-saver set for sample digestion and fumes neutralization. The optimization of the workspace under the hood is granted!

3. No requirement for tap water connection

The KS 1000 Scrubber breaks away from the need of relying on a dedicated water supply. Eliminating the requirement for tap water connection results in enhanced sustainability and convenience in laboratory settings. Thanks to the KS 1000 it is possible to save water consumption as well as to get free from potential pressure fluctuations and potential water supply limitations or disruptions.
