4 REASONS TO CHOOSE THE SER 158 AUTOMATIC SOLVENT EXTRACTOR

VELP’s fully automatic hot solvent extractor performs safe, precise, and accurate extractable matter determination on a wide range of sample matrices in food and non-food industries and sample preparation for environmental analysis. Discover why you should choose VELP's SER 158.
4 REASONS TO CHOOSE THE SER 158 AUTOMATIC SOLVENT EXTRACTOR
The SER 158 automatic solvent extractor in 3 and 6 positions, is the accurate and precise solution for quantitative and qualitative extractable matter determination according to Randall analytical method, better known as Hot Solvent Extraction or Accelerated Soxhlet Extraction. Analyzing up to 5 times faster than traditional Soxhlet, Hot Extraction with VELP’s SER 158 series maximizes throughput and minimizes solvent consumption.

The solid-liquid extraction process removes the soluble components from solids using a liquid solvent in 5 steps: Immersion, Removing, Washing, Recovery, and Cooling.

The SER 158 works in accordance with international standards such as AOAC, ISO, EPA, APHA, and UNI and performs fully automated extractions in complete safety, calculating and archiving the results in the easy to-use ControlPad.

Just Load&Go!

1. Smart and easy to use

1. Smart and easy to use
The SER 158 is designed to work unattended 24/7 with Load&Go technologies, minimizing necessary operator intervention. The exclusive 7" ControlPad™ has an intuitive User Interface that facilitates the set-up and interaction with the analyzer. Just choose from the pre-installed methods, create new ones and mark your favorites for a fast start-up.

Integrated yet removable, the ControlPad™ can be connected with a balance and barcode reader for maximum automation and traceability.

Work automatically and unattended thanks to the VELP Ermes Cloud Platform: the operator will be able to monitor and control analyses and results from a virtual cockpit anywhere, anytime.

2. Cost-effective extractions with premium materials

Minimized Solvent Consumption is guaranteed by VELP's patent-pending titanium condensers for unparalleled solvent recovery. Indeed, more than 90% of the solvent used is collected and stored in the cooled recovery tanks.

For the majority of fat extraction applications, the recovered solvent can be reused cutting down operating costs. As well as, minimal cooling water consumption (starting from 1l/min) and the independent heaters switch on/off.

3. Maximum safety and minimum exposure to solvents

3. Maximum safety and minimum exposure to solvents
The SER 158 is hermetically sealed, uses SolventXpress™ technology, and has a protective transparent cover that preserves spills and hot solvents from happening.  Advanced sensors constantly monitor the extraction process and ensure a safe analysis during all the steps.

In addition, the fully automated cooling operation prevents the overheating of the soluble matter. SafeEnd™ technology avoids extracted matter burnings by automatically raising the cups after the removing step.

4. Unparalleled speed, accuracy, versatility and scalability

4. Unparalleled speed, accuracy, versatility and scalability
The SER 158 is a universal solvent extractor and combines up to 4 units enabling operators to perform multiple applications independently and simultaneously.

Safe and powerful heating combined with advanced software and security processes guarantees reproducible extraction processes.

The extraction process is easily visualized thanks to the LEDs guidance technology that illuminates the active positions.

In addition, VELP's state-of-art Solvent Extractor can work with all sample types and sizes thanks to its unparalleled versatility and wide range of accessories and consumables:
  • Butyl, Viton, and Vaflon seals ensure compatibility with the majority of solvents and mixtures
  • 3 different sizes of cups, thimble holders, and thimbles enable for extract minimum quantities and minimize solvent consumption
  • Cellulose and glass fiber thimbles for quantitative and qualitative analysis respectively
  • Compatibility with HU6 glass crucible avoiding sample loss due to transfer
