Turbidity

The turbidimeter is a solution for water analysis that enables the measuring of turbidity, i.e. the presence of suspended particles that make water less transparent.

This is critical for several reasons:

  • Wastewater Treatment: measuring turbidity helps monitor how well purification processes work and ensures that they meet environmental rules;
  • Industry: many industries, such as food, pharmaceuticals, and electronics, use water in their production processes. High turbidity can harm the quality of products and may cause equipment problems;
  • Environmental Monitoring: measuring turbidity helps us understand how human activities affect water bodies and track changes in rivers and lakes.

The turbidimeter has several main uses:

  • Quality Control: it ensures water meets necessary standards and regulations;

  • Process Monitoring: it checks how effective water treatment processes are and helps find any issues;

  • Scientific Research: it supports studies on processes like sedimentation and flocculation.

The VELP TB1 portable turbidimeter enables the measuring of turbidity, in a simple and precise way, the turbidity of aqueous samples. The measurement is supplied in Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU). The compact design allows easy, on-site handling and is highly resistant to wear and tear.
